The Awards Committee is an LESI Management Committee responsible for making recommendations to the Board of Directors as to awards, honors or appreciations to be given by LES International, the criteria for those awards, honors or appreciations and any nominees for receiving such awards, honors and appreciations.
Mission
The mission of the Awards Committee is to ensure that LESI identifies and appropriately recognizes the achievements of deserving individuals by recommending to the Board of Directors and the Board of Delegates as to awards, criteria for awards and nominees for awards to be given by LES International. In doing so, the Committee reviews the qualifications of candidates for awards, including the gold medal award of LESI, and makes recommendations each year as to whether and to whom an award, such as the gold medal award, should be granted that year. The Committee also makes recommendations as to whether and to whom honors or appreciations should be granted by LESI.
Goals
The goals of the Awards Committee include the following:
- Review and update the White Paper defining the Society Awards
- Examine the criteria for consideration of LESI Gold Medal Recipients outside of traditional LESI leadership positions (i.e., former LESI Past-Presidents)
- Review the qualifications of candidates for awards, honors or appreciations, including the gold medal award of LESI,
- Make recommendations to the LESI Board of Directors and the LESI Board of Delegates as to whether, and to whom, an award, such as the gold medal award, should be granted.
- Make recommendations to the LESI Board of Directors and the LESI Board of Delegates as to whether, and to whom, an honor or appreciation should be granted by LESI.
- Populate and maintain the Committee pages on the LESI Website.
