LES ANZ "IP and Competition Law Reforms – Impacts on IP Licensing"

Licensing is the predominant transaction model in the information economy and is as old as intellectual property itself. The proper use of licenses underlies two important aspects of today’s economy: collaboration (which leads to the creation of new information products) and flexibility (in the ways information producers bring their products to market, causing business model innovation.) In the last five years there have been several reviews of IP and competition law. Over twenty reforms directly impact IP licensing. This seminar summarises the changes in the context of licensing practice.
