The Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), a professional membership association dedicating to advancing the business of intellectual property globally, is seeking a senior professional to serve as Executive Director. This newly established role will oversee the day-to-day activities of the organization including supervision of any Society employees or contract Association Management Companies. The Executive Director will work closely with the volunteer Board of Directors to develop and implement LESI's strategic and operational plans. Specific responsibilities include oversight of LESI meetings, employees, accounting, tax filings, contractors and support to the LESI Board including preparation of the annual Society plan. The Executive Director will also serve as a liaison on behalf of LESI to related NGO’s. Principal areas of responsibility include:
- Preparation for Society meetings include one or two meetings of the organizations international delegates, the annual planning meeting of the incoming President, one or two annual meetings of the National Presidents’ Council and special meetings such as the LESI Global Technology Impact Forum (see www.GTIForum.org).
- Management of other Society contractors including Association Management Companies, tax and audit firms, web hosting and design contractors, grant writers, preferred Paid Conference Organizers, etc.
The Executive Director will be an independent contractor to the association, and work from their own office. A minimum of 10 years nonprofit leadership experience (CAE or equivalent) is required, along with significant international experience and a track record of successful collaboration with active volunteer leaders. Experience with intellectual property issues and international public policy is preferred. A competitive compensation and incentive plan will be developed.
