Mission
The mission of the European Committee is: to keep abreast of developments in EU laws, cases, regulations, trade agreements and other matters relevant for tech transfer in the EU and to foster mutually beneficial relationships with the EU Commission, the EPO and OHIM, including through submissions to these bodies.

Jean-Christophe is a partner at Bird & Bird Brussels. He has broad expertise in IP matters, including in drafting and negotiating IP transactions, performing due diligences and in contentious matters. His practice includes IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and finance-driven transactions. A member of the Brussels bar since 1988, Jean-Christophe graduated in law from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL, 1988) and was awarded an LL.M from the University of Chicago School of Law in 1994. |

Christian is a Partner in the firm of Boehmert & Boehmert, Munich, Germany. A German Patent Attorney and a European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, Christian holds a Dipl.-Phys., from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Christian was previously engaged in Japan from 1995 to 1997 with a Patent Office in Osaka, the Patent Department of Ebara Corporation and the Intellectual Property Department of Sony Corporation. He is a regular lecturer on IP at the Tokai University, Tokyo, Japan, and at the University of Advanced Sciences, Kiel, Germany. |
