• Chicago 2010

Project involves the planning and preparation of Workshop(s) at the 2010 LES USA/Canada Annual Meeting, September 26-29, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.

• Growth of membership

Project has as its goal to increase Committee Membership and participation by engaging those who do not come to the meetings via making the available tools on the Asia-Pacific website more interactive.

• LESI TLO/PRO Forum

The aim of the Project is for the IUGT to provide a vehicle within LESI for TLOs and PROs to network and exchange views and practices with Industry and provide a means wherein researchers and others who are involved with TLOs and PROs can further their understanding and knowledge of IP and licensing. In a first phase, emphasis will be placed on TLOs and PROs in the Asia-Pacific region with are either not serviced or underserviced in this regard by existing organizations. In a second phase, this would be extended to TLO/PROs in Europe and the USA. In a third phase outreaches to TLO/PROs in other regions will be considered.

The approach is to provide a series of “Theme Weekends” combining IP/Licensing education with some recreational activities. Examples are an “IP Ski Weekend” to be held at SonoFelice Ski Resort, Korea, February 20-21, 2010, an “IP Expo Weekend” in Shanghai, China in September with Shanghai University acting as hosts of a combined program of education/workshops with a tour of a few national R&D centers and the Expo. The last meeting of “IP Weekend” series for the year is planned for Tokyo, Japan in January of 2011 with an “IP Hot Springs Weekend” that combines the educational/networking/workshop element with local hot springs recreational element and a tour of a few start-up/spin-off companies. The Forum is being led by Sun Kim.

• Committee Web Pages

The goal of this Project is to fill, and maintain current, the content its Committees Web Pages including collatinge internet links and LESI website content for IUGT webpage and to create an up-to-date online summary of employee ownership rights, benefit sharing – including legal policy basis.

• South Africa 2010

The goal of this Project will be to organize and put on a Workshop at, the LESI Annual Conference in Sandton, South Africa in April 2010 on royalty monetization streams from licensing.

• Outreach to External Organizations

The goal of this project is to establish contacts with relevant external organizations, such as WTO and the ICC.
