• Outreach to Equivalent Industry Sector Committees

The goal of this project is to establish contacts with equivalent Industry Sector Committees in LES Member Societies and, in particular, with the LES USA/Canada Aerospace and Transportation subcommittee of the LES USA/Canada High Technology Sector.

Activities to be pursued include contacting and communication with the leaders of those Committees, attending subcommittee and sector meetings of the High Tech Sector and Aerospace and Transportation subcommittee Subcommittee in San Francisco, participating in the monthly calls of the LES USA/Canada Aerospace and Transportation Subcommittee and generally coordinate the people and activities of the related LESI and LES USA/Canada Sectors and Subcommittees.

• Committee Membership

The LESI Engineering, Transportation and Physical Sciences Committee is a new Industry Sector Committee of LESI. As such, it is in an organizational phase in which it is needed to enrolling persons interested in participating in the Committees activities

This Project involves devising and implementing actions and activities to:


make LES members aware of the LESI Engineering, Transportation and Physical Sciences Committee;
identify LES members who may be interested in the activities of the Committee and to participate in them; and
engage LES members to participate in the Committees activities and, in particular to serve leadership roles in the Committee

• Objectives for future years

The goal of this Project is long-range planning for Meeting the Committees future needs and objectives. To this end, the Project involves planning involving the following activities:


Identification of corporations and other entities in the field having LES members and potential LES members;
Providing announcements and summaries of US/C calls and programs to members and potential members;
Contributing to programming for LESI meetings;
Assisting in networking members; and
Planning leadership succession.
