Purpose
The committee examines, develops, and deploys methods of improving communications between LESI and national Societies, between national Societies, among individual members of industry and professional interest committees, and promotes LESI worldwide. Inter alia the Committee facilitates a wide dissemination of the discussions and deliberations of LESI and its committees and facilitates the exchange of information on matters of mutual interest. The most visible of these activities is the societys professional publication, les Nouvelles, and the LESI website, www.lesi.org.
Responsibilities
The committee is responsible for the production of the LESI Annual Report, the LESI Operations Manual, the LESI Membership Database, les Nouvelles, www.lesi.org, the les Nouvelles Archive, and all other marketing materials for LESI. The Communications Committee promotes, encourages and coordinates communication between the industrial and working group committees of LES International.
Tasks
The main focus of the committee is to develop, extend and facilitate the LESI web site at http://www.lesi.org/ and produce the professional publication les Nouvelles. It coordinates the maintenance of http://www.lesi.org/, including the addition of new pages, documents, and tools. Assisting LESI committees and national and regional societies by the production of web pages and sites is a primary function. It also supports the Secretary and administration of LES International.

Meetings

The committee meets in person twice a year at the LESI Delegates meetings, and communicates many times every month with its members by e-mail and telephone about relevant issues.
